Tragically Hip Jam Session

Retro Music Collective Jam Session featuring the music of the Tragically Hip. Play in a supportive, mentored jam where the aim is to have fun playing songs by the Hip. The song list is set in advance so you can prepare the song(s) you want to play. Whether you know one song or several, play basic parts or more advanced ones, or prefer a support role on rhythm guitar or singing backup, there's a spot for you! Full backline provided - just bring your own bass/guitar (paparazzi optional!) HOW THE NIGHT WORKS: We'll kick off with "Wheat Kings", "Ahead by a Century" and "Courage". After that, the group decides which songs from the list to play and how often. Can you have three renditions of "Courage"? Absolutely! Want another turn singing "Bobcaygeon"? Put your name down! Ready to tackle the lead in "New Orleans is Sinking"? If you're ready, the jam session is ready.

We're piloting JamHost, a new web app that coordinates musicians so everyone who wants to play has a chance. After a brief orientation at the start of the night, you'll open JamHost in your phone's browser - no download needed - and sign up for your songs and instrument/vocals. Watch the venue screen to see what songs are coming up and when it's your turn. Need help signing up? Just ask the host!

THE SONG LIST (songs can be played multiple times): Wheat Kings, Ahead by a Century, Courage, Boots or Hearts, New Orleans is Sinking, Blow at High Dough, Bobcaygeon, Grace Too, Twist My Arm, Long Time Running, Fully Completely, Fifty Mission Cap, Love is a First, It's a Good Life if You Don't Weaken.

READY TO KICK OFF THE NIGHT? Want to play or sing on our first three songs - Wheat Kings, Ahead by a Century, or Courage? Complete an advance registration form to request an opening spot.
